HOW TO REACH
SYROS ISLAND

How to Reach Syros Island

Syros, nestled in the heart of the Cyclades, is accessible by air and sea. Here are the best ways to reach this beautiful island  for our wedding celebrations:

- Flight to Mykonos Airport (Recommended)

Fly directly to Mykonos, Mykonos Airport is the closest international airport to Syros.

It's an ideal option for guests traveling from abroad. For those looking to extend their Greek experience, consider spending a few days in Mykonos either before or after our wedding.

From Mykonos to Syros travel options:

- By ferry boat: The most common method is via ferry boat,  with journey times ranging from 35 minutes to 1 hour,  depending on the ferry you choose.

Book ferry: Visit www.greekferries.gr & www.ferryhopper.com  for ferry schedules and ticket bookings.

Luxury option: For those seeking a more exclusive and upscale journey, private helicopter services are available to transport you directly to Syros.

Book a helicopter: Visit www.helistar.eu for more information and bookings.

- Flight to Athens Airport

Another viable option for reaching Syros is to fly directly into Athens Airport. This route is particularly convenient for those coming from destinations without direct flights to Mykonos. Travel Options from Athens to Syros:

- By plane (recommended): For a swift and efficient journey, we recommend taking a direct flight from Athens to Syros Airport. These internal flights are typically short, lasting about 25 minutes, and are quite budget-friendly.

Check flights: Visit www.skyscanner.com to check for available flights  and tickets.

- By ferry: Upon arrival at Athens Airport, you can take a taxi to Piraeus Port, the departure point for ferries to Syros. The taxi journey typically takes around 45 minutes, though this can vary depending on traffic conditions.  It's a straightforward way to transition from your flight to your ferry. We recommend 'Fast Ferries' for a quicker sea journey.

These ferries can take you to Syros in approximately 2.5 hours, combining efficiency with the pleasure of a sea voyage. As an alternative, the 'Blue Star' ferries offer a more leisurely trip, usually with ample space to unwind. These ferries provide the opportunity to relax on the deck, perhaps with a drink in hand, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Aegean Sea.
